Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Contractors have demanded that the government declare a state of emergency in the construction industry and provide them immediate relief. <\/p>\n
The contractors submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Balen Shah through the Kathmandu District Administration Office on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
General Secretary of Kathmandu Valley Contractors’ Association, Pancha Bahadur Tamang, said that they have demanded the Prime Minister through Kathmandu Chief District Officer Ishwar Raj Poudel to provide immediate relief to the construction workers. <\/p>\n
He also drew the attention of the government to make the construction materials business-friendly by adjusting the price of construction materials. <\/p>\n
General Secretary Tamang said, “The Association strongly demands the government to declare emergency in the construction industry and provide immediate relief to the construction entrepreneurs as the continuous price hike and shortage of construction materials including fuel has put a huge financial burden on the contractors.” \u2019<\/p>\n
“We heartily appeal to the government to issue price adjustment immediately and to solve the problem of price increase by adjusting the price of all the contracts of all periods,” reads the memorandum. <\/p>\n
