Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) has urged the government to readjust vehicle fares. Issuing a press release on Thursday, FNCCI General Secretary Dekanath Gautam said that the fuel price has increased twice since the last time the fuel fare was adjusted or the price hike should be withdrawn. <\/p>\n
“Due to the conflict in the Middle East, Nepal Oil Regulations has been increasing the price of diesel and petrol time and again. This has created a difficult situation for the operation of passenger and cargo vehicles operating in the public transport sector, Gautam said. <\/p>\n
Stating that the fuel prices were increased on April 12 and April 15, the press release said, “As per the scientific method implemented by the government since 2065 BS, there is a strong demand to adjust the price of petroleum products due to the increase in the price of petroleum products by five percent through the automatic system or to roll back the price hike.” <\/p>\n
The statement also reminded the members of the federation to reduce the consumption of petroleum products and minimize the losses incurred while operating the service. <\/p>\n
“We strongly demand the government-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) to make alternative arrangements in place of the price hike time and again,” the statement reads. <\/p>\n
