According to Gajendra Thakur, director general of the Department of Money Laundering Investigation, he has been taken into custody for recording his statement. <\/p>\n
“We were called for a statement. He has come here,” Thakur said. Agrawal’s investigation is underway at the Department of Money Laundering Investigation. <\/p>\n
He was arrested on Friday night, police said. Agrawal was arrested in 2076 BS on the charge of trying to sell thermal guns at a high price. He was later released on bail by the department. <\/p>\n
Earlier on Friday, Shankar Lal Agrawal, the chairman of Shankar Group, was also arrested. Following the arrest of businessman Deepak Bhatta, the Department of Money Laundering (PMLA) has also started investigation against other people linked to him. <\/p>\n
Shankar Group is one of the leading business houses in Nepal. Its main company is Jagdamba Steel. <\/p>\n
