Kathmandu. Udayapur: Ballot boxes have been damaged when security personnel opened fire at Katari in Udayapur. <\/p>\n
The incident took place at the Tawakhola (B) polling centre in Katari Municipality-3. <\/p>\n
A police constable posted at the Area Police Office, Sundarpur, Chuhade, opened fire from a shotgun he was carrying. <\/p>\n
The ballot box was damaged in the explosion. There were 4 votes in the ballot box. Police said there was no damage to the ballot papers. <\/p>\n
Voting is now underway by placing it in another ballot box. According to Binod Ghimire, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Koshi Province, the weapon exploded when security personnel were fighting. <\/p>\n
