KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has urged the party leaders and cadres to prepare the party for the upcoming political leadership. <\/p>\n
Urging not to be disappointed about the future of RPP, he said the party should move ahead by making it stronger and organized. <\/p>\n
Addressing a greetings exchange programme organized by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Kathmandu district working committee on the occasion of Deepawali, Nepal Sambat, Chhath and Sonam Lhosar, Lingden claimed that the time now is for the RPP. <\/p>\n
He said, “Now is the time for RPP. The time has come for RPP to be ready for the leadership of the coming time. RPP needs to be strong to save the country from possible disasters. Therefore, the leaders and cadres of the party should move forward with high morale and not despair. \u2019<\/p>\n
Stating that RPP is not weak, he said that the party needs to be strong to save the country from possible political accidents. He said that RPP should be ready to lead the country in the coming times. <\/p>\n
Lingden said that in the recent political situation, there is a danger of totalitarianism being established in the name of democracy. He said that the tendency to run the country on the basis of order and power rather than rules, rules and legal processes can lead the country towards a serious crisis. <\/p>\n
Raising the issues related to change in the Inspector General of Police, arrest and release of government officials and tender process for the Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion Project, he stressed the need for transparency in the government’s activities. <\/p>\n
He said that the citizens should know the reason for reinstating the arrested officials and the benefits or losses to the state due to the suspension of the contracting process. <\/p>\n
He said, “There is a danger of totalitarianism being established in the country in the name of public opinion and democracy. A situation is being created to run the country on the basis of orders and waves rather than rules and regulations. The government should give a clear answer to the people about the incidents ranging from the change of the Inspector General of Police to the arrest and reinstatement of government officials. It should also be made public why the contract process worth Rs 16 billion for the Sunkoshi-Marin Diversion Project was stopped and what benefit the state got from it. \u2019<\/p>\n
Lingden claimed that his old analysis of Nepal’s politics being influenced by politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen and middlemen connected to the judiciary is proving to be correct. He said that the present government is also seen continuing the previous trend. <\/p>\n
He also said that the tendency of using the party on the basis of personal and professional interest should be put to an end within the RPP.
