Kathmandu. Famous TikToker Tulsa Adhikari (Tulsa Collection) has failed to be released from jail. <\/p>\n
The Patan High Court has upheld the District Court’s order to keep him in custody for investigation on charges related to criminal gain, organized crime and money laundering. <\/p>\n
Tulasa had appealed against the order of the District Court, Lalitpur, to send her to custody for trial. A division bench of Justices Khadka Bahadur KC and Keshav Prasad Adhikari of the Patan High Court, while hearing the petition, ruled that the order of the district court was not found to be without merit. <\/p>\n
A claim of Rs 21,12,20,406 has been filed against Adhikari. He has been charged with taking criminal advantage (extortion) under Sections 3 and 8 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act, 2070, altering the source and location of property earned through hundi and violation of the Money Laundering (Prevention of Money Laundering) Act, 2064. The chargesheet has demanded compensation to the victim and strict punishment as per law. <\/p>\n
In the order issued by the High Court, 3 main grounds have been pointed out that Adhikari should be kept in custody on the basis of the evidence received immediately<\/p>\n
1. Complaint of the complainant Kumar Chamoria and the application with more details. <\/p>\n
2. Bina Kumari Chamoria, Nawaraj Acharya, Rudra Prasad Acharya, Hemraj Rasaili, Nitu Gusa, among others, along with the case papers and police report. <\/p>\n
3. Defendant Tulsi Adhikari, in his statement before the Court, admitted to having a relationship with the complainant. <\/p>\n
4. ‘Tulsa Collection Pvt. Ltd. Ltd. The defendant himself has stated in his statement that his weakness was in showing the under-transaction in the income and expenditure statement submitted by him to the concerned government body. <\/p>\n
The High Court has held that the order of detention for the trial of the Lalitpur District Court on June 21, 2081 has been found to be lawful. With this order of the High Court, the officer will now have to fight the case in jail till the final verdict of the case. <\/p>\n
