Kathmandu. With the beginning of the Dashain festival, the number of passengers leaving the Kathmandu Valley and returning home has increased. The movement of passengers has increased at the main checkpoints of the valley after people who were in the federal capital for studies, employment and business started returning to their villages to celebrate Dashain.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, more than 1,87,000 passengers have left the Valley through public transport since Ghatasthapana. In the last 24 hours alone, more than 78,000 people have left Kathmandu through various checkpoints.

Meanwhile, a total of 130,129 passengers have so far booked their bus tickets through advance booking.

Although the number of passengers has increased, the problem of traffic management has increased due to the broken roads. According to the Federation of National Transport Entrepreneurs of Nepal, the operation of the vehicles has been affected due to the failure of the national highways to return to Kathmandu on time.

The Federation has urged passengers to travel only by issuing compulsory tickets, understanding the fixed fare and checking the condition of the vehicle to travel safely.
