Kathmandu. It has been 6 months since the formation of the government under the leadership of Walendra Shah. <\/p>\n
Shah became the Prime Minister on March 27 after the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), which emerged as a new political force in the elections held on March 4, 2002, won a majority of nearly two-thirds i.e. 182 seats in the parliament. <\/p>\n
The first meeting of the Council of Ministers held immediately after the formation of the government had unveiled 100 major agendas including governance reforms, good governance and various issues. <\/p>\n
The government had given priority to good governance and transparency, digital transformation, legal and policy reforms and result-oriented work. The government has claimed to have achieved significant policy achievements so far in the areas of administrative reforms, promotion of good governance, corruption control, legal reforms, public service delivery and economic sectors. <\/p>\n
But in the meantime, natural disasters like the Bhotekoshi flood and recent rains have caused a huge loss of life and property. There are challenges including its management, reconstruction and control of the market price that has increased on the eve of the festival. <\/p>\n
Not only the MPs of the opposition parties, but also the MPs of the ruling party have been warning with the government’s comments. They have expressed dissatisfaction with the problems of the squatters, the delay in reconstruction and rehabilitation after the Bhotekoshi floods, the control of market prices, and the working style of the government. <\/p>\n
Recently, all the ruling and opposition parties have responded positively to the proposal presented by Prime Minister Shah on behalf of Nepal in the United Nations General Assembly. Similarly, many people have taken the issue of not making a fuss about the Prime Minister’s visit to New York positively. <\/p>\n
