Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol has said that the Metropolitan Police Force should be developed as a mechanism to work round the clock for the smooth management of Kathmandu. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a function organized to mark the 34th anniversary of the Metropolitan Police Force (MPF) on Sunday, Dangol said that the police force is not only an organization and structure of the metropolis but also a mechanism trusted by the citizens to make Kathmandu disciplined and systematic. <\/p>\n
She said, “The Metropolitan Police Force is not just the organization and structure of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. It is a mechanism that works day and night to move forward with determination in good management. It is a mechanism that the citizens trust to make Kathmandu disciplined and systematic. \u2019<\/p>\n
Stating KMC Police was not only limited to enforcing the Act, rules and orders, she said the police was playing an important role in humanitarian service sector. <\/p>\n
She said, “Our metropolitan police is not limited to just following the laws, rules and orders. You have been building cities based on humanity, providing assistance to the helpless, working in urban sanitation and sanitation, and being at the forefront during disasters. \u2019<\/p>\n
Dangol said such activities of the KMC were playing an important role in raising the public image of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City. <\/p>\n
She also stressed the need to make KMC collaboration with all security bodies including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Traffic Police more strategic and result-oriented in days ahead. <\/p>\n
She said, “The partnership that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) will have with the city police as well as all the security agencies including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Traffic Police should be strategic and result-oriented. I urge that we move forward together.” \u2019<\/p>\n
According to him, although the development partners and security agencies have their own rights and limitations, the spirit of service should not be limited for the best urban management. <\/p>\n
