Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that a two-thirds majority in Parliament will have no meaning if the people are not made to feel good governance. She made this comment in the context of the completion of one year of the Gen-G movement. <\/p>\n
She said that the Gen-G movement that took place a year ago gave a clear message to the state and political leadership for good governance. “Political stability is not determined by parliamentary arithmetic, but by the character and working style of the ruler. Therefore, the government should be able to work effectively to ensure good governance, corruption control, rule of law and respect for citizens,” she said. \u2019<\/p>\n
Writing on social media, Karki said that a year ago on this day, a painful incident took place in the history of the country. She said that innocent youths have been killed in the name of suppressing their voices while raising their voice through the streets and digital networks demanding good governance, accountability, transparency and a bright future. \u2019<\/p>\n
She paid her heartfelt tributes to all the warriors who were martyred in the incident. She also wished the injured a speedy recovery. <\/p>\n
She said, “There was a lot of damage to private and public property. Many of our national heritage and heritage have been lost. This wound on the life of the nation will hardly ever be healed.” She said that such a day should never be repeated. “Let us do our duty honestly, responsibly and cautiously from our places so that people do not have to come to the streets again for good governance and change,” she said. <\/p>\n
