KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that Nepal’s presentation to the upcoming United Nations General Assembly should be factual, scientific and result-oriented. <\/p>\n
Speaking at a meeting of the party’s Central Work Execution Committee held at the party central office at Sanepa, Lalitpur on Monday, President Thapa suggested that the upcoming foreign visit of Prime Minister Balendra Shah should not be limited to formality and ‘grand show’. <\/p>\n
He stressed the need for Nepal to strongly raise the problems facing the climate change at the world forum. <\/p>\n
Presenting natural disasters like the Bhotekoshi flood as an example, Thapa stressed the need to take the losses faced by Nepal despite low greenhouse gas emission to the international community with scientific evidences. <\/p>\n
Giving suggestions to the Prime Minister, he urged the Prime Minister not only to rely only on his secretariat but also to hold extensive consultations with experts, university researchers and experts inside and outside the country. <\/p>\n
